Tempe junk follows the school calendar. When ASU classes end in May, and again when leases flip in late July and August, couches, mattresses, desks and mini fridges pile up next to every apartment dumpster in town. The rest of the year, the work is landlords turning over rentals, homeowners in south Tempe clearing garages, and small offices near downtown changing space.
We bring one truck and one pink dump trailer (about 14 cubic yards), load everything ourselves and quote before we touch a thing. Text a photo to (206) 554-1524 and we answer with a number.
ASU move-out season
Move-out weeks are the busiest stretch of the year in Tempe, and the schedule fills up fast. If you know your lease end date, book a few days ahead instead of the morning you hand back the keys. Property managers often charge for anything left in the unit or next to the dumpster, so it is usually cheaper to have it hauled.
A typical student move-out is a futon or couch, one or two mattresses, a desk, a TV stand and a few bags. That often fits our $149 minimum or a half trailer. Roommates splitting one pickup is common and fine with us. One person approves the quote by text and you sort out the split.
Rental turnovers for landlords
Tempe has a lot of rentals, from apartments to the older homes around Maple-Ash and the neighborhoods just off campus. When a tenant leaves furniture, trash bags and a broken grill behind, the unit cannot be cleaned or shown until it is gone.
You do not need to meet us. Send photos of each room, give us a lockbox code or leave the side gate open, and we send photos of the empty unit when we are done. Our move-out cleanout page covers how we handle these jobs.
- Leftover furniture, mattresses and bed frames
- Bagged trash and kitchen junk
- Old appliances the owner is replacing
- Yard debris and broken patio furniture from the back
South Tempe homes and small offices
South of the 60, Tempe is mostly single-family homes with two-car garages and backyards with mature trees. Those jobs look more like a classic garage or shed cleanout, plus the occasional storm cleanup after a monsoon brings branches down.
Near downtown and along the main corridors, we also see small offices downsizing or moving. Desks, chairs, file cabinets, old monitors and printers all go, and electronics go to recyclers rather than the landfill. See our office cleanout page for the details.
Getting to Tempe from the north side
We are based on the north side of the Valley, so Tempe works best booked a day or so out. Same-day is possible when the route has room. Loads from Tempe typically go to the nearest East Valley transfer station or recycler after donations are dropped off.
