Fountain Hills is built on slopes, and that changes how a junk pickup works. Plenty of homes off Shea Boulevard and up toward FireRock sit on driveways steep enough that we have to think about where the trailer parks and how a sofa gets from the back patio to the street.
None of that makes a job impossible. It just means a photo of the driveway is as useful to us as a photo of the junk. Send both to (206) 554-1524 and we will tell you the trailer size, the price and how we plan to load.
Hillside lots and steep driveways
On a steep or curved driveway, we usually park the trailer at the bottom or on the street and carry items down. On view lots where the backyard drops off, patio furniture and old planters often come out through a side gate and down a set of steps. Tell us about stairs, narrow gates and any spots where the driveway is too tight to turn around.
Heavy items on slopes, like a hot tub, a safe or a piano, get planned ahead. Hot tubs are cut into sections where they sit so nothing has to roll down a hill in one piece.
Snowbird and second-home cleanouts
A lot of Fountain Hills homes belong to people who are here from roughly October through April. Calls here tend to be opening-season jobs (clearing out what a renter or relative left behind) and closing-season jobs (hauling worn patio furniture, old mattresses and the things nobody wants to store over a summer).
If you are not in town, that works. Approve the quote by text, leave the items accessible or arrange access with a neighbor or property manager, and we will send a photo when the space is clear.
Downsizing and estate work
Many Fountain Hills residents are retirees moving to something smaller or closer to family. Downsizing usually means a full house of good furniture that will not fit the new place, plus a garage of tools, golf gear and holiday boxes. We sort donation items on our side and haul the rest. For a whole-house job, see our estate cleanout page.
Typical loads here include:
- Patio sets and loungers that faded in the sun on view-lot decks
- Bedroom sets from guest rooms that are no longer needed
- Exercise equipment, golf clubs and bags
- Desert landscaping debris after monsoon storms knock down branches
Getting here and where loads go
We come in from the north side of the Valley, so Fountain Hills is usually easiest to book a day ahead. Same-day happens when the route has room, especially if you call early.
Loads from Fountain Hills typically head toward the Salt River Landfill, run by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community east of Scottsdale. Usable furniture is dropped at donation on the way and metal goes to recyclers.
